Sony Ericsson unveils Maria Sharapova accessories in London

Apple may have Steve Jobs to showcase its products, but Sony Ericsson has Maria Sharapova as a brand ambassador. And honestly, whom do you want to watch more?

Today the Swedish-Japanese handset maker unveiled the Maria Sharapova Design Collection in London, inspired by the beautiful tennis player’s own lifestyle and the latest fashion trends. She worked alongside Sony Ericsson’s design team to create a collection of accessories:

Sony Ericsson unveils J132, K330 entry-level phones

Sony Ericsson today unveiled two new low-end phones J132 and K330. The former is the real entry-level device, sporting a dual-band GSM (900/1800 MHz) radio, color screen, FM radio, torch function and a dust-resistant keypad.

The K330 model adds a VGA camera, Bluetooth, GPRS data support and an application called Health mate on top of J132’s specs. Mentioned app is designed to help users in keeping track of calories and making their own daily health plans.

The J132 will be available in “Night Black” and “Heaven Blue” in selected markets from Q4 2008. The K330 will be available in “Gold on Black” and “Green on Black,” again in selected markets from Q3 2008.

Sony Ericsson F305, S302 phones leaked

Tuesday, June 17th, will be an interesting day for Sony Ericsson. Two of the phones the Swedish-Japanese company will announce have been leaked — mobile gaming focused - F305 and quick shooter - S302.

Touted as the company’s first motion gaming enabled phone (even though the W910i and K850i also have built-in accelerometers), the F305 is the quad-band GSM + EDGE handset. It has dedicated gaming buttons around its 2-inch 176×220 screen, and loud stereo speakers on the back to make the gaming experience more enjoyable. There’s also Bluetooth support, 2 megapixel camera, Memory Stick Micro (M2) slot, FM radio, music player with TrackID support. Three games come pre-loaded with the device - Bowling, Bass fishing, and Jockey. The Sony Ericsson F305 is a low-to-mid range device, measuring 96×47×14.6 mm and weighing 97.5 grams. It will be available in “select markets” in Q3 2008, in “Polar White” and “Mystic Black.”

On the other hand, the quad-band GSM+EDGE Sony Ericsson S302 will be sold as an affordable camera phone. It has the same screen as the F305, and also comes with Bluetooth support, FM Radio, 2 megapixel camera and memory card slot. The S302 is the first device in the new Sony Ericsson’s series - Snapshot. It measures 101×46×11, weighs 79 grams and will be available in “Thunder Grey” and “Crystal Blue” in Q4 this year.

In addition to new phones, the Sony Ericsson will also unveil new Bluetooth headsets - HBH-PV-715, HBH-PV-720 (supports StyleUp covers) and HBH-PV-740 (features a status display).

Sony Ericsson Intros the HSDPA Z780 clamshell

Together with the HSDPA phone G502, Sony Ericsson also announced a low-end version clamshell phone Z780. The Z780 is also an HSDPA phone and is a sister phone of the recently announced Sony Ericsson Z770. The Z780 boasts of tri-band 3G and HSDPA capabilities aside from sporting a stylish clamshell frame. With its 3G capability, the Z780 will give you faster mobile web browsing experience as well as quick access to your mobile email client. In addition, the Z780 is also equipped with a GPS function answering everyone’s navigation needs. Like the G502, the Z80 also features the latest version of Google Maps for mobile that allows you to view high quality maps with satellite view of local areas as well as view listings of restaurants, hotels and other establishmens in your locality. The maps also includes reviews and ratings of these establishments from people who have been to the establishments. Google Maps for Mobile in the Z780 enables you to receive turn-by-turn directions that will help you find your way into a specific location. The Z780 has the following powerful features; 2.0 megapixel VGA camera with 2.5x digital zoom, photoblogging features, various entertainment features including 3D games and Java apps, FM radio, video clip and video streaming. In addition, the Z780 can also be used as a full function music player. It supports MP3 and AAC music formats and has Bluetooth stereo (A2DP).For connectivity, aside from the 3G features, the Z780 also boasts of aGPS, Bluetooth, modem, PC synchronization, and USB support. These and other usual Sony Ericsson mobile features more than make the Z780 a good all-around clamshell phone.

Sony Ericsson announces the G502 HSDPA phone

Sony Ericsson is bringing the mobile web into the mainstream with the release of its new G502 HSDPA phone. The G502 is the third in Sony Ericsson’s G series mobile handsets and the first model in this series to have the high-speed capability HSDPA. Running on HSDPA, users will have faster browsing and downloading experience. The main feature of the Sony Ericsson G502 is its tie up with Google Maps for Mobile. This feature will give you a satellite view of the local area where you are located as well as give you a listing of various spots, such as restaurants and hotes including reviews and ratings from those who have been into the place. The G502 however doesn’t have GPS capability. But if you want to have that function, you can do so by plugging in the GPS Enabler HG-100 accessory. The G502 is packed with a wealth of features that would certainly make you love this phone including; email access through POP3/IMAP client email, 2 megapixel camera with digital zoom of up to 4x, Bluetooth stereo, media player, stereo FM, USB support, synchronization features, 3D games, Java support, video recording and playback, video streaming, plus a complete organizer function. Sony Ericsson SO903iTV for NTT DoCoMo

It seems that NTT DoCoMo has the monopoly on Bravia phones in Japan as the latest Sony Ericsson mobile TV phone, the SO903iTV is coming out bearing the mobile service provider’s flag. This latest handset for NTT DoCoMo comes with a 3 inch 240 x 432 pixel LCD screen and is able to produce a 16:9 ratio picture. This handset uses the latest Bravia Engine for Mobile Phones, developed by Sony in tandem with Sony Ericsson. Aside from being able to recieve Mobile TV service, you can record video on the internal memory or external memory via microSD expansion slot. This clamshell phone sports a 2 megapixel camera, Felica, GPS, 3G roaming capabilities, and a document viewer.

Rumor has it that Sony Ericsson is working on a new concept phone that will revolutionize the way we use our mobile phones. According to available information, the new phone will be called Konan: Beauty Renaissance 2.0. While available pictures may leave our curiosity piqued and appetite for mobile phone eye-candy sated, they say nothing about functions, features or capabilities. If all this rumor mongering is hype-building for a supposedly revolutionary phone, then maybe we should all have the patience to wait until SE officially announces the thing. Sony Ericsson PSP Phone In the Works?

First they started incorporating (very successfully, if I might add) their Walkman and Cybershot technology into their handsets, and most recently, the Bravia TV technology and now, a Bravia-branded handset is produced in Japan with mobile phone operator NTT Docomo. Mobile phone giant Sony Ericsson is looking at the possibility tapping into their Playstation brand for future mobile phone models. According to the company’s president, Miles Flint,”Its an area of possible future activity…â€œWe need to make sure that it is a credible phone, and be sure we are justified in putting that identity on it.” Sony Ericsson, has come up with a winning and golden, tried and tested recipe by enhancing their mobile phones with their trusted brands. They have been very successful in coming up and producing powerhouse phones well-received and acclaimed by consumers and critics alike. It is a no-brainer that the PSP phone will be a hit and will be able to stand its ground against the competition, if and when they decide to come up with such a phone. Please do.
